David explores the complex emotional state of limerence - an intense, obsessive attraction to an unattainable person. Influenced by gothic literature like Wuthering Heights, this artwork marks a departure from his folkloric work, delving into raw emotional landscapes of unrequited love, despondency, and human vulnerability.

Created on an A2 sheet, the piece represents David's first large-scale colour pencil work. Drawing inspiration from vintage CDV portraits and Victorian majolica pottery's saturated palette, he transforms black and white source material into a nuanced exploration of emotional complexity. The artwork invites viewers to interpret the unspoken narrative between its figures - who is in limerence, and who is the unobtainable.
