About This Piece

A digital artwork David crafted that was centred on St Govan's Chapel, a mystical location in Wales steeped in local folklore. The piece draws inspiration from childhood memories of the legendary steps - a local myth suggesting that counting the steps ascending and descending the chapel always yields different numbers.

Using a vintage photograph of the bay as a backdrop, David constructed a narrative exploring themes of privilege and nobility, populating the scene with a wild, feral family from Annwn (the Welsh mythological underworld). The artwork, titled "The Aristocrats", reimagines the landscape as a mystical stage for exploring social dynamics and supernatural elements.

The piece is Giclée printed on high-end archival Canson Infinity Photorag, and coated with a satin Giclée varnish. It is supplied in an A2 sized mount to fit directly into any standard A2 sized frame. The piece is signed and numbered on the front.
