About This Piece

Each print in this limited edition is unique, with each print having gold ink applied by hand by the artist. The hand painting, the texture of the paper with its deckle edge and tiny imperfections make each print unique.

This print is derived from an original artwork made by David W J Lloyd. Madam Bird is a mythical character based on ideas and themes of Celtic folklore and magical realism. She not only has power over winged creatures, but the gift of flight itself.

Edition Info

Due to the time constraints of the hand-finishing involved in this piece, this edition is strictly limited to 25, each print is signed and numbered.

Sizes And Frame

The unframed print is approximately A4 sized - 29.7cm x 21cm (11.7 inches x 8.3 inches) - due to the nature of the Khadi paper it can be slightly different and uneven.

The print is made available in a gold frame for ease of display. Each frame has a 3cm moulding, perspex safety glass and a dark grey background card on which the print is float mounted. This means the deckle edge of the paper is fully visible in the frames, which are ready to hang with a picture wire on the rear.

Technical Specifications

Each print is made using the finest ingredients, and there is no low grade, unmanaged “print on demand” here. David creates, embellishes, inspects, packages and post each print himself. They are printed using a Canon Giclée printer on 150gsm cotton rag, acid-free, Khadi paper. The added gold is an acrylic ink painted onto the print which is then signed and numbered in pencil.
