About This Piece

Mr. Tan emerges as a charismatic, almost mythical preacher figure - his very name signifying fire in Welsh. Born from a collaborative concept with a filmmaker friend, this character embodies an intense, magnetic presence capable of commanding attention through his hellfire sermons. Though originally conceived for an unrealized film project, David has reimagined Mr. Tan as a powerful artistic persona. The piece reached notable recognition, being shortlisted for the Royal Academy's Summer Exhibition in 2019, hinting at the character's provocative and compelling nature.

Technical Specifications

Each print is made using the finest ingredients, and there is no low grade, unmanaged “print on demand” here. David creates, inspects, packages and posts each print himself. They are printed using a Canon Giclée printer and archival inks on heavyweight matte 308gsm Hahnemuhle Photo Rag paper, ensuring both the best colour matching and archival stability.
