About This Piece

This print is taken from an original art work inspired by a demonic entity from Welsh folklore. Yr Hwch Ddu Gwta would be the bogeyman used to scare children home. On Nos Calen Gaeaf, the Welsh Halloween, children and adults would race home to be safe from the giant sow following some bonfire divining. He would devour the souls of the last person home that night, an entity striking fear into the hearts of those who knew the tales. This monstrous black sow was often accompanied by the White Lady, who was sometimes headless and sometimes not. It all depends on which stories you believe and which part of the country you came from…

Unframed Sizes

The unframed print is available in 3 sizes:
• Small (A6 paper) - 148mm x 105mm (5.8 inches x 4.1 inches)
• Large (A5 paper) - 210mm x 148mm (8.3 inches x 5.8 inches)

The A4 version has a 10mm (0.4 inch) border, the A5 has a 5mm (0.2 inch) border.

Frames

The print can also be ordered in a frame for ease of display.

The frames have a 15mm (0.6 inch) black frame with glass. It is ready to hang with a picture hook on the rear and a kick stand. The print is float mounted on a grey background card.

Technical Specifications

Each print is made using the finest ingredients, and there is no low grade, unmanaged “print on demand” here. David creates, inspects, packages and posts each print himself. They are printed on matte 180gsm white paper.
